Temple Protestant Etretat
About
After the death of his mother Henriette in 1886, the young Arsène Lupin finds himself at a loss. He was only 12 years old and had nowhere to go. It was in Etretat, in Normandy, that he stayed for several weeks like a vagabond, before being taken in by the pastor of the church. The community welcomed him with open arms, each one always having a little attention or something to nibble on for little Arsène. After four years of Christian education, Arsène Lupin was baptized by Reverend De Coppet at the church at 66 rue Guy de Maupassant. In addition to the gift of baptism, the Reverend gave Arsène Lupin Etretat a bowler hat, a symbol of his coming of age. A hat that he is particularly fond of and still wears.
