Château Puyfromage
About
A family vineyard. Chateau Puyfromage was built in 1574 close to a 11th century dungeon and a royal dovecote perfectly preserved. We offer free visit of technical facilities with a wine tasting. You are welcome. The château Puyfromage property belongs to 4 brothers (Yves, Francis, Philippe and Frédéric Marque) whose ancestors were coopers, producers of cellar equipment, winemakers and wine merchants. Their grandfather, Abel Albert, acquired château Puyfromage in 1943. During the hundred years war (That ended close to Puyfromage in the town of Castillon la Bataille in 1453), the British troops stationed in the plains, undertook their operations based on the signals emitted “on the side of the plateau”. The expression « from edge » used to designate this place (where the château Puy Fromage now lays) was translated over time to become “fromage”. Propriété familiale depuis plusieurs générations, Château Puyfromage est un vignoble riche en histoire situé à quelques kilomètres de Saint-Emi
