La Renaissance Du Vieux Lyon
About
The Renaissance du Vieux‑Lyon (RVL) is Lyon’s long‑standing heritage association, founded in 1946 and officially recognized as a protected sector since 1964. It works hand‑in‑hand with the city council, regional authorities, and a network of volunteers to safeguard the medieval and Renaissance streetscapes of Vieux‑Lyon, host free cultural programmes, and celebrate local artists and craftsmen. The RVL offers an array of activities: monthly conferences, guided walks, educational tours for children, and the annual European Heritage Days (JEP). Membership is open to anyone who wishes to support the preservation of the neighbourhood, with annual fees ranging from €12 for students and seniors to €45 for families, and €100 for well‑being or corporate members. The association’s headquarters are at 50 rue Saint‑Jean, 69005 Lyon, and the office is open Monday to Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Contact details are: phone +33 4 78 37 16 04 and email contact@lyon-rvl.com. Visitors and members alike are invited to explore Vieux‑Lyon’s historic streets, attend free events, and contribute to the ongoing preservation of this UNESCO World Heritage site.
