Le Gabion
About
Le Gabion is a vibrant fish‑specialty restaurant nestled in the heart of Lyon at 13 Boulevard Eugène Deruelle. The décor fuses rustic charm with contemporary flair – the walls are set with pebbles from the Rhône River and accented by warm, dim lighting, creating a cosy, intimate atmosphere that feels both authentic and inviting. Chef Anouar Issad, who took over the kitchen in October 2021, has re‑imagined the menu around fresh, locally sourced seafood. His contemporary approach pairs classic French techniques with modern flavour profiles, offering diners a range of sea‑food dishes that celebrate the bounty of the region. The menu showcases a breadth of dishes – from traditional fish specialties such as grilled trout and sea bass to inventive twists like a tomato‑caper fish tartare. Seasonal salads, hearty soups, and decadent desserts complete the experience, ensuring there’s something for every palate. The bar also features craft cocktails and a selection of fine wines that pair beautifully with the meals. Guests are welcomed for lunch and dinner, with first service from 11:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and a second service from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on most days. While reservations are not mandatory for regular dining, booking is highly recommended for groups or special occasions, and the restaurant offers event spaces for private parties, business lunches, or celebrations.
