Fondation Claude Monet
About
The Fondation Claude Monet brings visitors to the artist’s private sanctuary in Giverny, open from 1 April to 1 November. The pink‑rendered house, restored in the late 1970s, houses a period‑accurate studio, bedrooms, and a reading room, all furnished with reproductions of Monet’s own paintings and everyday objects. Outside, the gardens are divided into the formal Clos Normand, the tranquil water garden, and the famed water‑lily pond, which has inspired some of the most celebrated works of the Impressionist movement. With its Japanese bridge, vibrant seasonal blooms, and carefully curated spaces, the site offers a vivid recreation of Monet’s life and artistic vision.
