About
Hosted in By-Thomery in Seine-et-Marne, (45min from Gare de Lyon) the Château de Rosa Bonheur embodies the richness of a historical and artistic heritage. Acquired in 1859 by the famous animal painter Rosa Bonheur with the sale of her painting The Horse Fair, the house became a sanctuary for her creativity and innovative spirit. Since May 25 1899, time has stood still in Rosa Bonheur's studio. It's all there ... Her embroidered blouse, her hat, her boots, her palettes, her brushes, her colors, her sketchbooks and notes, right down to her cigarette butts. The scent of turpentine mingles with the artist's violet perfume... No need for re-enactment, just let yourself be carried away.
