About
Terra Vinea is a unique subterranean wine museum located in the small village of Portel‑des‑Corbières in southern France. Visitors descend more than 80 metres below ground to explore the former gypsum mine and learn about the rich history of wine in the Narbonne region, from antiquity to the present day. A one‑hour guided tour—followed by a wine tasting—offers a fascinating journey through layers of geology and culture, enhanced by an engaging audio guide in multiple languages. The site is open every day from 10 am to 6 pm, with guided audio tours starting at 10:30, 11:15, 12:00, 13:30, 14:15, 15:00, 15:45 and 16:30. Check‑in and ticket purchase are available on the spot, although online booking is also optional.
