Cathedrale Sainte-Reparate
About
Cathedral of Saint Reparata (Basilique‑Cathédrale Sainte‑Marie et Sainte‑Réparate) stands as a magnificent example of Baroque architecture in the heart of Nice. Originally founded in the 13th century, the current building was constructed between 1650 and 1685, with subsequent additions completed in 1949. The cathedral is accessible to visitors free of charge. Inside, a soaring nave, a richly decorated choir, and an impressive spire dominate the interior, while more than a dozen chapels honor various saints. The historic organ, dating from 1901, continues to enrich Masses and concerts with its resonant tones. The cathedral’s blend of artistic splendour, architectural grandeur, and spiritual history makes it a must‑visit landmark for travellers to Nice.
