Musee d'Art Moderne Et d'Art Contemporain
About
The Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain (MAMAC) is a leading modern‑and‑contemporary art museum in Nice, France. Since its inauguration in 1990, MAMAC has offered an exceptional collection of 20th‑century avant‑garde and contemporary works by Yves Klein, Niki de Saint‑Phalle, Marcel Duchamp, Andy Warhol, and many others. Architecturally, the museum is designed as a striking tetrapod arch that spans the Paillon river, creating a dramatic gateway and a unique relation between the city and the river. Admission is free, and the museum’s exhibition halls are normally open daily from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, except on Mondays. Currently, due to renovation work as part of the Promenade du Paillon project, the museum is closed to visitors, but its online collection and “outside the walls” itineraries remain available for exploration.
