About

The Musée Escoffier de l’Art Culinaire is the sole culinary museum in France, housed in the 18th‑century Provençal home of the legendary chef Auguste Escoffier. The museum, a tribute to Escoffier’s lifelong devotion to gastronomy, invites visitors to wander through ten exhibition rooms that showcase his utensils, menus, and personal artifacts, all arranged within the original domestic setting. A highlight is the dedicated Salon d’Auguste Escoffier, where the chef once hosted guests and refined his culinary philosophy, complemented by a playful children’s room and a tasting space that serves seasonal specialties. The museum’s extensive library contains over 4,200 culinary volumes, including rare manuscripts and Escoffier’s own works, and the visitor centre offers guided tours that, by reservation, walk guests through the kitchen and dining rooms, revealing the evolution from royal cuisine to modern haute cuisine. Open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (until 7:00 p.m. in July and August), the museum also closes on 1 May, 14 May (10:00–14:00), and the winter break from 1 December 2025 to 8 January 2026. Families and food lovers alike will find the collection, free admission for children under 12, and the guided tours an enriching experience for all.
