About
An emblematic part of Niort's history, the keep is the last remaining construction of importance from the original wall surrounding Niort which was alomost 2700 metres long. Classified as Monument Historique since 1840, the keep is labellised Musée de France. The museum's permanent exhibitions include archeological et ethnographic collections, as well as an exhibition about the monument's history traced through a modern layout enriched with a scenography.
