About
A few words about the House A charming village The desire to find a place with character A house discovered by accident while visiting another. Immediately taken by its charms, yet so much work to be done. And that's how I found myself in March 2007 beginning the restoration of this big old XVIIIth country building, located in the centre of the French bourg of Longny au Perche. It took a bit of time and after 3 years of endless dust and banging, I finally opened my Bed & Breakfast, just one room to begin with, then three and finally four by March 2011. I've always believed that an ancient building should carry the traces of its various occupants over time, which is why I chose to keep the original carved woodwork, fireplace, floors, dors, window ironwork amongst other elements As the current occupant, I've also delighted in bringing my own personal touch by breaking a few walls, letting in some light, playing withe a large palette of colours from the discreet to the unexpetedeclectic range of furniture that has been collected over the recent years from hunting in antique and second-hand shops My desire was not to recreate a typical "percheronne house" but to give free run to my eclectic taste. I hope that your visit through these pageswill incite you to come for a stay stay under this roof A place where I, myself, am also passing through in the long-life of this home, and I'm yet just another visitor.
