the DISSIDENT club is a bar-café, where are organized debates, social actions, documentary screenings, exhibitions and performances. the DISSIDENT club is run by Taha Siddiqui - an award-winning Pakistani journalist living in exile in Paris since 2018. Siddiqui fled from Pakistan after surviving a kidnapping and assassination attempt in 2018 by the Pakistani military which had been threatening him for his journalism for several years preceding to the attack. Siddiqui’s work has appeared in the New York Times, the Guardian, the Washington Post, Arte, France24, among other news agencies. He is the recipient of the Prix Albert Londres 2014. In exile, he continues to report on Pakistan & teaches journalism at SciencesPo.
