About
Tour Saint‑Jacques, situated on the right bank of the Seine in Paris’s 4th arrondissement, is France’s last surviving Flamboyant Gothic tower. Erected between 1509 and 1523, it stands 52 metres high and serves as a tangible reminder of the city’s medieval past and the historic Way of St. James pilgrimage route. While the original church was demolished during the French Revolution, the tower remains a protected monument historique and UNESCO World Heritage Site. A brief visit offers visitors a chance to step back in time, admire intricate stonework, and reflect on the tower’s enduring significance.
