About
The Notre-Dame church was built in the early 16th century by cardinal Amanieu d’Albret, commendatory abbot of Saint-Pierre (St. Peter) Abbey of Brantome, in order that the villagers could have a parish church within the city. The single nave is covered with rib vaults. A bartizan belfry rises at the angle facing the bridge. The church was deconsecrated in the 19th century and was converted into a covered market and village hall. It now houses the PERIGORD Dronne Belle Tourist Office in Brantome. From December to February: Certified truffle market on Friday mornings (9:30-12:00 AM)
