Site archeologique de Cucuruzzu
About
The Cucuruzzu archaeological site, located in the commune of Levie on the island of Corsica, is a testament to Bronze‑Age civilization. The ruined fortified village—known as the Casteddu—features terraced walls, dwellings and a historic watchtower (Torra) perched above the ruins. Accessible from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm (with extended hours until 7 pm during June–September), the site offers visitors a two‑hour guided tour that includes panoramic views of the Mediterranean landscape. The site’s historical significance is highlighted by its designation as a historic monument in 1982 and the ongoing restoration work carried out by the Corsican territorial community. Visitors can enjoy the site free of charge if they present the necessary documentation; otherwise, adult tickets are €4, reduced tickets €3, and children under ten also enter for free.
