Chateau du Boschet
About
Hidden in the countryside, about 20 kilometers south of Rennes, the Château du Boschet was built during the time of the Roi Soleil in the second half of the XVIIᵉ century. It is the work of Pierre de Lescouët, Grand Chamberlain to Philippe d'Orléans, brother of Louis XIV. Courtier of quality, man of the great century impregnated with Versailles. He invented the Boschet in the spirit of his time. Entirely classified as a historical monument, the Château du Boschet is a real curiosity, far from the austere Breton castles, which will fascinate you by its history and the characters who shaped it. Its monumental tufa staircase and its Louis XV wood-panelled room, modelled on that of Madame de Pompadour, will charm you. Its sublime French garden offers countless green theaters, terraces, a labyrinth and a vegetable garden.
