Welcome to the Papillon Chambres d'Hotes page. Papillon is a small, independent bed and breakfast establishment, run by Robert and Sarah, on the outskirts of Hambye in Lower Normandy. Our aim is to make your stay as comfortable as possible and, to that end, only the finest towels, linens and bedding are provided for your comfort. Our house is warm and cosy but with the right level of sophistication that you have come to expect. Breakfast is included in the price with fresh bread and croissants directly from the local boulanger as well as home made selections. Hot dippy eggs with crusty bread is a mainstay along with yoghurts, cereals and home made preserves. Sarah is an Escoffier trained chef and we also offer a table d'hotes evening meal, by prior reservation. Alternatively, there are many exquisite local restaurants that can be be reserved for you. Perfectly situated for an overnight stop, having got off the boat, (We are one hour from Caen, one and a half from Cherbourg and four from Calais), we are also in the middle of one of the best holiday areas in France. The beautiful, long, sandy and empty beaches of the Bay of Mont St Michel are only fifteen minutes away, there is ancient history (Mont St Michel, Bayeux), or modern history (The D-Day beaches, countless WW2 battle sites) plus the countryside all around is green lush and inviting, perfect for walking and cycling. All in all there is something for everyone along with a level of comfort that will make you want to return again and again.
