About
Built in the 14th century and now classified as a “Historic Monument”, the castle of Crazannes in Charente-Maritime has been restored to provide modern comfort in a beautiful medieval setting. The nickname of “Castle of Puss in Boots” goes back to the 17th century, when the castle was the property of the real Marquis de Carabas who inspired Charles Perrault to write his famous tale. Nestled at the heart of an 8 hectare park, the castle along with the Roman chapel, 11th century keep, dovecot and museum of rural objects all contribute to the charm of this beautiful location.
