Parc De Merlet
About
Perched at 1,500 metres above the valley of Chamonix, Parc de Merlet offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Mont‑Blanc massif while immersing visitors in a lush, animal‑rich woodland and sunny meadows. The park features a network of circular trails, wooden mountain chalets, and designated animal enclosures that provide close, gentle encounters with ibex, sheep, chamois, llamas, and marmots. Open from the first of May to the end of September, with extended hours from 9:30 to 19:30 in July and August, the park requires a reservation every day. In winter the site is closed, but visitors can arrange guided snowshoe treks. Whether you are a nature enthusiast, a family with children, or a solo hiker seeking a quiet alpine escape, Parc de Merlet delivers a memorable, wildlife‑friendly experience against a dramatic mountain backdrop.
