Le Parc Du Thot
About
Parc du Thot is a living museum and wildlife park in the heart of the Vézère valley, south‑west France. Visitors can roam a 30‑hectare enclosure that showcases almost seventy prehistoric and modern species, from aurochs and Highland cows to Przewalski horses and wolves. Inside the carefully curated museum, five life‑size facsimiles of the Lascaux caves are illuminated by natural and black‑light, and an augmented‑reality “temporal mirror” brings extinct mammals such as the woolly mammoth or cave bear into vivid life. Guided by knowledgeable keepers, every day the park hosts feeding sessions and interactive workshops for all ages. The experience is designed for families, nature lovers and history buffs alike, offering a unique blend of education, entertainment and outdoor adventure. The park’s slogan — “Travel back 20 000 years without leaving the Périgord” — captures the essence of a place where past and present collide in a lush, family‑friendly setting.
