The Maison des Vins de Bourgueil was set up 20 years ago by the wine producers, in the old family home of Jean Carmet, a famous French actor, a building dating from the 15th century, right in the centre of Bourgueil. Open all year, this is the opportunity to taste ten or so red and rose wines, and find out about the soils in the appellation which result in supple, light wines or wines for laying down, and to choose from 180 wines on sale at vineyard price.
