Aquarium De Touraine
About
The Grand Aquarium de Touraine – located in the heart of the Loire Valley – is the largest freshwater aquarium in France. Visitors embark on a 2‑hour journey through its three meticulously crafted ecosystems: the pristine freshwater of the Loire, vibrantly coloured tropical freshwater, and the rich marine environments of the Indo‑Pacific. The 300‑m³ tanks host 360 species and more than 2,000,000 litres of water, housing everything from dwarf catfish and gentle piranhas to majestic sturgeons, black‑tip and white‑tip sharks, and dazzling coral. In addition to immersive exhibits, the aquarium offers themed interactive areas such as the semi‑dark “Silurium” tank and the wreck‑inspired shark tank, making it a perfect destination for families, science enthusiasts and solo travelers alike.
