About
The Port of Saint‑Goustan, situated on the Auray River in the heart of Auray, is a historic marina that has evolved from a bustling trading port in the 18th and 19th centuries to a modern hub of leisure boating and scenic river cruises. Located at the highest tidal point of the river, it was once a key point of access for ships en route to Spain, Britain, and other markets before the advent of the railway in 1862. Today, the port offers visitors a charming riverside atmosphere, with facilities for visiting boats, and serves as a popular starting point for gentle tours along the Gulf of Morbihan, showcasing the picturesque Breton coastline and the town’s historic architecture.
