About
Claude Bernard was one of the most distinguished physiologists and medical scientists of nineteenth century in France, and arguably the most influential on subsequent generations of medical researchers. Yet it is not easy to find the full scope of what he did and wrote - nor what has been written about him. The aim of the Claude Bernard Museum is to set him in the context of the 19th century in order to understand who was this unknown man. The first floor of the building broaches the private life of Claude Bernard and his personality. The second floor is more oriented in the science universe of the 19th century and talks about the unavailable discoveries of Claude Bernard.
