Afspanning de Swaen
About
Afspanning De Swaen in 's-Gravenvoeren (Voeren) already served as a resting place for horse and rider midway through the stagecoach route between Liege and Aachen in the 16th century. Now is the perfect place to enjoy a drink or a meal on the terrace, in the taproom or in the restaurant. Local specialties include 'gebakken trip met appelschijven' (grilled black pudding with apple slices), rabbit with plum sauce, and 'Voeren-style' trout, fresh from the hatchery of Sint-Pietersvoeren. Or enjoy one of the more than 30 Belgian beers, including a wide selection of Trappist beers, locally brewed Rick's beer, or one of the beers from the Grain D'Orge Brewery in nearby Hombourg. Our special tea and coffee is made from freshly roasted coffee beans from Blanche Dael in the Wolfstraat in Maastricht. We also have a banquet hall for up to 80 people.
