About
The East Side Gallery is a vibrant open‑air gallery that stretches along the historic Berlin Wall, showcasing 105 murals painted by artists from across the globe in 1990. Poems of freedom, calls for peace, and bold portraits line the 1,316‑metre stretch, making it a living testament to the fall of the Berlin Wall. Visitors can wander along the wall at their leisure for free, while guided tours are available for a modest fee, offering deeper insight into the artwork and its history. The gallery stands in Friedrichshain‑Kreuzberg, near the Spree and the Oberbaum Bridge, and is one of the world’s longest open‑air murals.
