About
The Gemäldegalerie in Berlin is one of the world’s most important museums for European painting from the 13th to the 18th century. Housed in a modern building completed in 1998 in the Kulturforum district, the gallery showcases masterpieces by artists such as Jan van Eyck, Albrecht Dürer, Raphael, Titian, Caravaggio and Rembrandt. After a long history dating back to 1830, the museum is part of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin and offers visitors a comprehensive journey through four centuries of art history. The museum is free to enter, making it an accessible destination for families, art lovers and history enthusiasts.
