The award-winning architect duo karhard® from Berlin opened a showroom and online shop with exclusive animal artwork and design objects in September of 2023. The cherry jewel beetle normally lives in dead branches in orchards. In the Petshop by karhard®, in Berlin-Kreuzberg, it is emblazoned as a huge carpet on the wall; It is a custom-made product by the carpet manufacturer Ferreira de Sá from Portugal (since 1946). The blue-black colors are based on the magnificent shell of the real insect. Botanical silk, mohair and wool make it belong to the special species of “cuddly carpet beetles”. Anyone who sees him immediately wants to get up close and personal with him, and that's exactly what the shop owners want. At the entrance to the showroom, a “Please-Touch” sign invites you to touch all the artwork and decorative objects. The space is open to all design and interior design fans, aesthetes and animal lovers.
