Suriya Kanthi translates as "The Sunshine" and is designed to bring the warmth and cordiality of Sri Lanka to our guests. On the walls you will find the cave paintings of Sigiria and paintings on the backs of the benches show the everyday life of Sri Lanka. I opened the first Sri Lankan restaurant in Germany in 1992. For 25 years now, we have been serving our guests our cuisine as it is cooked in Sri Lanka. The most popular food in Sri Lanka is "rice and curry" with all its variety and each individually spiced. The curries are refined with different spices, which are freshly ground and sometimes roasted. Since Europeans are not used to our spiciness, the cook is somewhat stingy with the spiciness. However, if you like, you can order it hotter. The many different spices serve both taste and health and are used in Ayurveda.
