The Technical University of Darmstadt sees itself as the focal point of the science city of Darmstadt and, with its Kunstforum der TU Darmstadt, also contributes to the aesthetic education of all members, including 27,000 students, and urban society. Through the Kunstforum and the associated exhibition activities, TU Darmstadt is increasingly perceived by the public as a place of cultural events. The Kunstforum has its anchor point in the exhibition hall in the Old Main, Hochschulstraße 1, second floor, and also uses other locations of the TU for artistic activities, both indoors and outdoors, for example in the palace garden or in the palace itself. It sees itself as a place of encounter, a place to engage with all facets of art from painting to installation, photography, video, performance, music and dance. It offers a forum and is a forum.
