Brauerei Schumacher
About
Brauerei Schumacher, founded in 1838, is the oldest house‑brewing company in Düsseldorf. Visitors are treated to a genuine Altbier that embodies the city’s cultural heritage—spiced with Schumann‑select hops, malt, yeast and crystal clear Düsseldorf water. Within the storied Stammhaus on Oststraße 123 guests can sip freshly tapped beer from oak casks, enjoy traditional snacks like rührei, lachs, roastbeef, kassegarn and a range of German delicacies. The brewery also offers a cosy beer‑swinger, Im Goldenen Kessel, on Bolkerstraße 44, where the historic brew is served on tap. The venue is family‑friendly, with high‑chairs, wheelchair access, outdoor seating and a lively atmosphere. Beer lovers can purchase club‑bottles, crates, party kegs and freshly fermented packs directly at the brewery or the beer outlet. The beer is offered for €1.25 per 0.33 l bottle (deposit €0.15) and €3.00 per litre for kegged beer. Reservations for events are handled via the website form, though general visits are free of booking.
