Welcome Home! In over a century of tradition, we meet you at the Hotel & Restaurant Alt Weimar. Since opening in 1909, the restaurant welcomes you in the most beautiful dress of Art Nouveau. Lead Glazed Motif windows, stucco ceilings and the original wood paneling give us the framework for our modern, home-style cooking, for which we only use ingredients from our home. Venison from the Thuringian Forest, honey from our bees, vegetables and fruits from the region. The bridge to modernity we propose in our hotel rooms where you, in the spirit of the Bauhaus tradition, are welcomed by Gropius' famous new objectivity from the hands of regional craft enterprises. From the Wagenfeld lamp to coloring; everything pays homage to the great names of the Bauhaus who were our guests in person by Walter Gropius and Henry van de Velde. Enjoy our 'new hospitality'.
