Olympia Skistadion
About
The Große Olympiaschanze, or Great Olympic Hill, sits proudly on the Gudiberg in Garmisch‑Partenkirchen, Bavaria. Built for the 1936 Winter Olympics, it remains the world’s iconic venue for ski‑jumping, hosting the annual Four Hills Tournament’s New Year’s jump. Visitors can explore the historic hill through guided tours that take guests up the in‑run, over the take‑off and to the observation deck, offering panoramic views of the valley. In addition to the jump, the hill complex features a bobsleigh run near the Riessersee lake. Tours are available year‑round, with special Wednesday and Saturday sessions. Adults can join for €16, students and holders of certain GaPa cards for €14, and children between 6‑15 for €8. A booking is required and can be made at the adventure shop on the site. The venue is a must‑visit for families, sports enthusiasts and history buffs who want to feel the excitement of Olympic winter sports.
