About
St. Nikolai Memorial is a powerful site of remembrance located at Willy‑Brandt‑Straße 60 in Hamburg. The memorial occupies the ruins of the former St. Nicholas Church, a gothic revival cathedral that was destroyed during World War II. Today visitors can explore the museum in the crypt, stroll the observation tower up to the 76‑metre platform, and listen to the 51‑bell carillon. Guided tours, digital tours, and special exhibitions are offered. The visitor centre displays photographs and panels that narrate the impact of the Hamburg bombings and the community’s remembrance efforts.
