Taverna Romana

Since almost 200 years heart-warming hospitality and genuine care and service are at the heart of the Taverna Romana promise to the guests. In 1828 the restaurant was founded by Mr. Max Dibbern who created a Wine and Spirits store in the premises with its own distillery. The wooden facade and the lead glass windows are still from that era, the same as the light dome and the paintings in the alcoves in the first part of the restaurant. Almost 150 years, until the middle of the last century, the premises remained in the possession of the Dibbern Family. Since 1977 the Taverna Romana and its traditions are being cared for by the Apostolides Family and continues to be an integral part of the 'Sternschanze' district in Hamburg.
