We were robbed at Dom Im Stapelhaus on 7-27-2011. We lost two cameras and a rucksack full of worthless stuff as we sat on the upper outside terrace. They were pros - in and out quickly. It is our opinion that it may have been an "inside job" as our waiter (Marcel? reluctant to give name) acted very suspiciously. When we reported the theft to him he called the "manager" who immediately said "we are not responsible" and "do not call the police. They will not come here" and then directed us to a far away police station. When we returned half an hour later he was surprised and evasive in answering questions. He finally called the "manager" who was a completely different manager then before. At first they had never seen the perps before but late admitted he recognized them as "foreigners". I could go on, but the moral of the story is: AVOID DOM IM STAPELHAUS IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE ROBBED. As an aside, so not confuse this den of thieves with Dom Im Stapelhausen which is a great mom & son restaurant a little further down the Rhine. At this wonderful spot they warn the guests to watch out for thieves.
