About

Founded in 1860, Cologne Zoo is the third oldest zoo in Germany and today houses more than 10,000 animals across 850 species on 20 hectares. The park combines traditional enclosures with modern, immersive exhibits such as the Great Ape Jungle House, the Southeast Asian Rainforest Hall, and the Asian Elephant Park – the largest elephant collection in Northern Europe. An award‑winning aquarium complements the zoo on the outskirts, featuring diverse marine life and interactive displays.
