The Goethe-Freilichtbühne Porta Westfalica, commonly known as the Freilichtbühne Porta or Portabühne, is an amateur theatre stage in the district "Barkhausen" of the town Porta Westfalica in North Rhine-Westphalia. The natural theatre between steep cliffs in the Wiehengebirge offers space for 644 spectators. In 2018, the theatre celebrated its 90th anniversary; the association was founded in 1927 and the first premiere was in 1928. The Goethe-Freilichtbühne Porta Westfalica e.V. looks back on an exciting, successful but also chequered history.
