Muhlenhof-Freilichtmuseum Munster
About
Go on a journey through time into the world of our ancestors. Experience how people in Münsterland and Emsland used to live and work. Explore farmhouses, workshops, the old school and other structures. Stroll through the cottage gardens and unwind in the café. Around 30 large and small buildings from the last 400 years await you on our premises right on the outskirts of the city, in the local recreation area at lake Aasee. Most of them are original buildings that have been moved from their previous locations to the Mühlenhof. Other buildings were reconstructed according to old models. Many events and special exhibitions expand our offer over the course of the year. Since 1963, the museum has been run by the non-profit association “De Bockwindmüel” e. V. Numerous citizens from Münster and the wider Emsland and Münsterland are still committed to the museum and contribute to keeping it alive and developing it further. language
