About
The Sky disc discovered in 1999 near Nebra is the world's oldest concrete depiction of the cosmos. 3600 years ago, this bronze disc made it possible to determine calendar dates and link the solar and lunar calendars to each other. You can learn about the Sky Disc's astronomy in the planetarium of the Nebra Ark at the foot of Mittelberg hill. The visitor's centre reveals further dimensions of this famous discovery in a multimedia presentation of the Sky Disc's history. The original discovery spot is also revealed and explained to visitors.
