The rich and varied collection of the City Museum of Noerdlingen gives insight into the moving history of the former free imperial city: Chose a historical tour through the settlement history of the Ries from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages or visit objects of the famous Battle of Noerdlingen that took place outside of the city walls in 1634 during the 30-Years’ War. Numerous panel paintings of the 15th and 16th centuries, most importantly by Friedrich Herlin, Hans Schaeufelin and Sebastian Taig, show the religious faith as well as the prosperity and political significance of the city of Noerdlingen at that time.
