Potsdam Paradise Garden
About
The Botanical Garden of the University of Potsdam, located at Maulbeerallee 2 in Potsdam, is a living museum of plant diversity and a testament to the university’s scientific heritage. Its 8.5 hectares of carefully curated landscapes include the iconic Paradise Garden, the glasshouse complex with tropical palms, epiphytes, orchids, and a spectacular rim of aquatic and marsh plants, as well as specialized gardens for succulents, carnivorous plants and a vast botanical arboretum. Between April and September the glasshouses are open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from October to March from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., while the Paradise Garden welcomes visitors year‑round from 8:00 a.m. to sunset. With free access to the outdoor areas and a modest entrance fee for the glasshouses, the garden offers a unique combination of leisurely strolls and in‑depth botanical study. Guided tours, educational programs for children, and special events such as seasonal flower showcases make the garden a must‑visit destination for families, nature lovers, researchers, and students alike.
