Parkhotel Schloss Meisdorf
About
Parkhotel Schloss Meisdorf is a historic estate that has evolved into a charming hotel nestled in the picturesque Harz region of Germany. Originally constructed in 1708 as a manor for the local nobility, the sprawling 12‑hectare castle park has long been the backdrop for the house’s transformation. Over the centuries it changed hands between prominent families—most notably the Asseburg line—and was gradually expanded, with additions such as a tower and side wing added in 1921‑22. In the late 20th century the property was revitalised and converted into a boutique hotel, and in 2001 it became part of the Van der Valk Group. In 2021, the chain announced the sale of the hotel, marking a new chapter for the historic site. Today the hotel offers visitors the luxury of staying in a restored baroque manor while enjoying all contemporary comforts. Its location near the town of Meisdorf in Saxony‑Anhalt provides easy access to natural attractions such as the Harz mountains, historic towns like Quedlinburg, and nearby transport links. Guests can relax on the beautiful estate grounds, dine in the hotel restaurant, and enjoy the convenience of modern amenities, making it an appealing destination for families, couples, and business travelers alike.
