Borgwedel lies on the Baltic Sea fjord of Schlei, which flows directly into the sea. The clear water laps gently against the banks of the youth hostel grounds. If sailors are not steering towards the jetty, then you can sit here and relax and enjoy nature. The highlight of the hostel are its fantastic opportunities for taking part in water sports: sailing, canoeing and, of course, swimming in the gorgeous swimming area. The hostel has its own canoes. Borgwedel Youth Hostel offers a 4-hectare playground. The main building and several dormitory buildings are spread across the site and have a total of 277 beds, mostly in 4-bed and 6-bed rooms, showers/toilets are located centrally, rooms for group leaders, club rooms and lounges including a TV room and billiards, W-LAN. The outdoor area offers a lawn, children's playground, area for playing football, volleyball court, basketball court, shoot-out challenge, table tennis, campfire site and a cosy barbecue hut.
