The German Literature Archive in Marbach was founded in 1955 and focuses its collections on the estates of famous authors and publishers' archives. These are accessible for research purposes and are on view to the public in the Schiller National Museum as well as the Museum of Modern Literature. The Schiller National Museum is currently closed due to renovations. A part of the permanent exhibition has been moved to the Museum of Modern Literature including the 'four Swabians' - Schiller, Hölderlin, Kerner and Mörike - and Luise Duttenhofer's silhouettes.
