It is therefore an ideal base for exploring the beautiful Moselle region. A cycling route runs directly along the river. You can board the bike boat near the apartment. This way, you can take the boat to Bernkastel-Keus and cycle back. The possibilities for trips are almost endless but Trier is definitely worth a visit. This is Germany's oldest city with a beautiful historic center. Ideal for shopping and admiring old buildings and the Porta Negra. Just south of the Moselle is the Hunsruck nature reserve and be sure to head for Idar Oberstein, famous for its gemstone grinding. North lies the Volcanic Eifel, where the more rugged nature and volcanic lakes can be admired.
