Although Sylt has hundreds of hotels and holiday apartements, only the most expensive are truly stylish. Or at least that used to be the case, before Martina Blum and Lars Poppe arrived with their young and fresh Long Island House Sylt. It´s a perfect mix of “pure” modern design and subtle maritime themes.Mirros like portholes, unpolished wood hinting at ship´s timbers and carved Moby Dick hanging above one bed are joined by browen quilted or white fake-fur throws, paited cane chairs, orchids and green apples. Most of the individually decorated rooms are small but well equipped, plus there´s spacious garden and sleek Scandinavian fireplace for winter.
