Wild- & Erlebnispark Daun
About
The Wild‑and Experience Park Daun (Wild- und Erlebnispark Daun) invites visitors to a living wildlife adventure in the heart of the Eifel. A 6‑hectare enclosure, Affenschlucht, showcases 60 Berber‑apes on a 800‑meter trail that lets guests observe their playful, social behaviour from a safe distance. Outdoor aviaries in the Falknerei‑section hold a variety of raptors—from a golden eagle to a red‑tailed hawk—performing daily flight shows that highlight the birds’ aerial skills and personalities. The park’s play area, Abenteuerspielplatz, offers trampolines, a giant slide, and a climbing volcano, making it a perfect playground for kids. A fine‑grained safari route spans 8 km and takes visitors past native species such as wisents, mouflons, and red deer, while the 800‑meter summer sledding track provides a thrilling yet gentle ride for all ages. With a welcoming café‑restaurant Waldhaus Hirschberg, a cosy park shop, and a gently scented meadow of host‑plants, the park delivers a natural escape that is family‑friendly and educational for nature lovers alike.
