About
Amazonas Park is Crete’s only dedicated zoo, showcasing a vibrant collection of South‑American wildlife, from colorful parrots and cockatoos to playful monkeys and sturdy donkeys. Visitors can wander through spacious aviaries and observe playful monkey troops, including the spectacular Barbary ape, as well as a unique goat enclosure. The park is renowned for its commitment to conservation, providing a safe breeding ground for endangered parrot species. Opening hours run daily from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM during the seasonal period (late‑March to early‑November); the facility is closed during the winter months. Admission is €10 for adults, €8 for children aged 3‑17, and free for infants under 3. The park offers ample parking for visitors, though it can fill up during peak summer days.
